I contemplate death.
The razor in my left hand,
and my right hand clutched tight.
The last bit of my dignity screams,
filling me with a burning urge,
to just do it.
Take all of y pain away.
I've already written my letter,
and have already given my reasons.
I just wait. I wait for my last.
My last thought, memory, or burst of depression
to push me to my limits.
My mind can't push away the voices
of my angels.
My demons overpower them
and yell and persuade the blade
to inch closer to my skin.
But the soft low voices
of the lights of my life
push themselves between the cracks.
With every glistening ray of moonlight,
that bounces off the dewey grass,
and with every whisper that
floats gracefully through the air,
they find me.
The voices of my friends,
of my family, of my animals.
they hold me back.
They break the thick barrier
of pain, evil, and misunderstanding.
That holds my heart so closely.
Closing my eyes,
I try to find a reason to end it.
